Upaneyya-Sutta: Doomed

Thus have I heard. At one time the Blessed One was staying near Sāvatthī, at Jeta Grove, in Anāthapindika’s park. Now a certain deva, as the night was passing away, lighting up the whole Jeta Grove with his effulgent beauty, approached the Blessed One and, having approached, stood on one side. Standing thus on one side, the deva spoke this verse before the Blessed One:
ខ្ញុំបានស្ដាប់មកយ៉ាងនេះ, សម័យមួយព្រះដ៏មានព្រះភាគ ប្រថាប់សម្រាលឥរិយាបថនៅក្នុងវត្តព្រះជេតវនរបស់អនាបិណ្ឌិកសេដ្ឋី ទៀបក្រុងសាវត្ថី នារត្តិកាលមួយ ទេវតាមួយអង្គមានរស្មីរុងរឿង ញ៉ាំងវត្តជេតពនទាំងមូលឱ្យភ្លឺស្វាង បានចូលទៅគាល់ព្រះអង្គ ថ្វាយបង្គំហើយ ឈរក្នុងទីដ៏សមគួរ រួចហើយបានពោលគាថានេះថា៖

Life but leads to doom. Our time is short.
From Decay there’s naught can keep us safe.
Contemplating thus the fear of death,
Let’s make merit that will bring us bliss.

ជីវិតគឺអាយុ(របស់សត្វទាំងឡាយ) តិចតួចពេកណាស់ ជរាតែងនាំចូលទៅរក(សេចក្ដីស្លាប់) កាលបើសត្វត្រូវជរានាំចូលទៅជិត(សេចក្ដីស្លាប់)ហើយ នឹងរកអ្វីជ្រកកោនពុំមានឡើយ បុគ្គលកាលសម្លឹងឃើញភ័យនុ៎ះ ក្នុងសេចក្ដីស្លាប់ហើយ គួរតែធ្វើបុណ្យទាំងឡាយ ដែលជាគុណជាតនាំសុខមកឱ្យ ។

[The Blessed One replied: ព្រះដ៏មានព្រះភាគត្រាស់តបថា]

Life but leads to doom. Our time is short.
From Decay there’s naught can keep us safe.
Contemplating thus this fear of death,
Scorn such worldly bait, seek final peace.

ជីវិតគឺអាយុ(របស់សត្វទាំងឡាយ) តិចតួចពេកណាស់ ជរាតែងនាំចូលទៅរក(សេចក្ដីស្លាប់) កាលបើសត្វត្រូវជរានាំចូលទៅជិត(សេចក្ដីស្លាប់)ហើយ នឹងរកអ្វីជ្រកកោនពុំមានឡើយ បុគ្គលកាលសម្លឹងឃើញភ័យនុ៎ះ ក្នុងសេចក្ដីស្លាប់ហើយ ជាអ្នកប្រាថ្នាសេចក្ដីស្ងប់ ត្រូវតែលះបង់អាមិសក្នុងលោកចេញ ។
